Model differences

Breville BOV680, BOV860, BOV900 and BOV950: what changes?

The BOV680, BOV860, BOV900 and BOV950 share the Breville Air Fryer name, but they are not four sizes of one identical machine. All list Air Fry; the BOV680 is the narrowest body and concentrates on five air-fry programs plus five oven favorites, the BOV860 has a published 0.8-cubic-foot cavity, the BOV900 adds Dehydrate in a larger Pro body, and the Joule BOV950 adds connected control. The BOV680 product page does not state cubic-foot cavity volume or appliance weight.

BOV680: the narrowest body, with important unlisted figures

The Smart Oven Air Fryer Compact BOV680 has a listed 15.7 × 16.9 × 10-inch body, four-slice toast capacity and an 11-inch pizza reference. Its product page separates five air-fry programs—Air Fry, Frozen Fries, Wings, Bacon and Crispy Reheat—from Toast, Bagel, Pizza, Broil and Bake & Roast. The provided basket, reversible rack, broiling rack and roasting pan make the task change explicit. Breville does not publish a cubic-foot capacity or unit weight on the current page checked, so do not infer its volume from the word “Compact.” The BOV680 assessment explains what that means for a dish you own.

BOV860: the published 0.8-cubic-foot middle ground

Breville lists the Smart Oven Air Fryer BOV860 at 0.8 cubic foot, six slices, a 13-inch pizza and 11 cooking presets. Its stainless-steel page configuration measures 18.9 inches wide by 15.9 deep by 10.9 high, and the included set covers an air-fry basket, rack, pizza pan and broiling/roasting pieces. It has Air Fry but no dedicated Dehydrate preset. It is the middle-width choice if the 21.4-inch Pro bodies are too wide: the BOV680 is narrower at 15.7 inches, but its cavity volume is not stated in the current product material checked. Even the BOV860 is a substantial countertop appliance rather than a tiny four-slice toaster. Read the BOV860 assessment.

BOV900: larger cavity plus dehydrating

The Smart Oven Air Fryer Pro BOV900 moves to one cubic foot, nine slices and a stated capacity for a 14-pound turkey, most 9-by-13-inch pans and a 12-cup muffin tray. Its 13 named presets add Proof and Dehydrate to Air Fry and the conventional baking, broiling, roasting, pizza, cookie and warming tasks. The manufacturer also says it can dehydrate using up to four trays. The body grows to 21.4 inches wide, 17.3 deep and 12.7 high, and the listing weight is 38.89 pounds. Its large accessory set includes two racks, a mesh basket, pizza pan and broil/roasting pieces. Choose it when those capacities and programs solve repeat work; it needs a generous, stable place to live. See the BOV900 assessment.

BOV950 Joule: the connected Pro

The Joule Oven Air Fryer Pro BOV950 shares the Pro’s listed one-cubic-foot capacity, outer dimensions and 38.89-pound weight. It has 13 physical presets plus three app-only modes, for 16 listed smart functions in total. The app adds guided recipes, Autopilot sequences, progress updates and remote control; the oven still works from its panel if it is not connected to Wi-Fi. That distinction is important: a phone is not required for ordinary local oven programs, but it is central to the added Joule functions. The BOV950 also lists an eight-position reversible rack and magnetic half-eject behavior at specified rack positions. Its finish-specific current US model codes include stainless BOV950BSS1BUS1 and black stainless BOV950BST1BUS1. Read the Joule BOV950 assessment.

Choose by the task you will repeat

For the narrowest body, compare the BOV680’s 15.7-inch width with its four-slice toast and 11-inch pizza references; its current product material does not state cavity volume. If you want a published 0.8-cubic-foot size and a body under 19 inches wide, consider BOV860. For larger batches and dehydrating without app-dependent oven control, compare BOV900. For guided, multi-stage cooking and remote monitoring, consider BOV950 only if you are comfortable setting up the app and compatible network. The 1.0-cubic-foot models share the same listed body dimensions, so the Joule upgrade is about software and workflow, not about gaining a larger cavity. No model’s nominal pan rating replaces a check of your own cookware.
