Your needs, this model
Does it fit your priorities?
Do you want an earlier Cuisinart that combines Air Fry with a separate Grill/Griddle setting?
The TOA-70BKS manual-index record documents both in one single-cavity oven, used in separate sessions with different accessory positions; earlier models must be enabled.
Explore this need in the finder →Is a measured counter-width limit essential?
The archived bare TOA-70BKS evidence does not publish external dimensions, so it cannot meet a hard maximum-width filter. Measure the actual unit instead of borrowing a current NAS-suffix measurement.
Explore this need in the finder →Do you need Dehydrate or a genuinely second oven zone?
Neither appears in the exact model-index-linked eight-function manual, and one cavity is shown; this is not a match for an essential Dehydrate or independent-zone need.
Explore this need in the finder →The Cuisinart TOA-70BKS is an earlier, discontinued model code—not a verified synonym for the currently listed TOA-70BKSNAS. Cuisinart’s official Air Fryer Manuals index preserves a discontinued “Air Fryer Toaster Oven with Grill” entry under the exact TOA-70BKS code, with its own gallery image and a linked TOA-70 Series booklet. It supports review of the documented cooking setup, not transfer of the newer suffix’s dimensions, color, package or availability. Start with the used unit’s model label.
Eight dial-selected functions, all in one cavity
The linked booklet describes eight functions: Warm, Broil, Convection Broil, Toast, Bake, Convection Bake, AirFry and Grill. Four rotary controls handle oven time, temperature, function and toast shade/time; it is a physical-control appliance rather than a touchscreen or connected oven. Convection Bake and Convection Broil are named separately, but they still use the same cavity. There is no separate upper/lower cooking schedule, so a grill session and an Air Fry batch cannot run at different temperatures at once.
This suits someone who wants a toaster-oven routine, Air Fry basket and grill/griddle surface, and prefers dials to menus. It is less compelling if the plate would sit unused: it adds no separate oven zone.
Use the basket and grill plate as different setups
For AirFry, Cuisinart’s guide places the basket on the baking pan and uses the upper rack position. The manual’s chart gives three pounds of chicken wings as one specific batch example; it also shows different portions for fries and other foods. Treat those as recipe guidance for named foods, not a universal capacity rating. The booklet recommends turning or tossing larger or crowded batches as needed, and its chart encourages checking food through the oven light.
The Grill function uses the reversible Grill/Griddle plate on the baking pan in the lower rack position. The guide recommends heating the plate-and-pan assembly for about ten minutes before adding food. The smooth side supports griddle tasks, while the ridged side is the grill surface. That means more than a function-dial turn: the plate gets hot, occupies storage space, needs its own handling and cleaning, and must be fitted in the specified position. The manual does not support using the plate and Air Fry basket simultaneously as separate cooking zones.
For toast, the booklet uses the upper rack position and lays out six pieces as three in front and three behind. This is a documented arrangement, not proof that every bread shape or thick item will fit. For more delicate bakes, it recommends Bake; convection settings are presented for faster air circulation and browning. These are manufacturer directions, not comparative test results.
Do not buy the bare code by borrowing newer measurements
The archived TOA-70BKS entry and its booklet do not establish exact exterior width, depth, height, cubic-foot capacity, wattage, or a named interior surface for the bare suffix. A three-pound wing example cannot substitute for cavity volume, and an image that looks metallic does not prove a finish name. A hard counter-width, capacity or surface-material requirement should therefore exclude this code until you can measure and inspect the actual appliance.
There is an important suffix trap here. The older model’s product route now redirects to the current TOA-70BKSNAS page, and Cuisinart’s parts listings reference several TOA-70 host codes. Neither a redirect nor a shared accessory family demonstrates that the older TOA-70BKS had the same finish, included package or specifications as the current NAS-suffixed oven. The support-index image is useful for recognizing the general four-dial, single-door form, but it does not carry a model label in the pixels; its identity comes from the exact code/image association in that archived support card.
Clearance and cleanup take real counter time
The family booklet calls for a flat, heat-safe surface and two to four inches of clearance from nearby walls or objects. It warns that the exterior becomes hot and says not to operate the oven under a wall cabinet or inside an appliance garage. Leave room for the door, hot pan and plate, and keep the cord away from hot surfaces. The same instructions say to let the oven cool and unplug it before cleaning. Hand-wash the rack, pan, basket and crumb tray; the ceramic nonstick grill/griddle plate is identified as top-rack dishwasher-safe, though hand-washing is preferred to protect its coating. Keep the crumb tray in place during operation and regularly clean grease from the upper interior.
The booklet states a three-year limited warranty for a new U.S. household purchase and specifies a 120-volt outlet. That warranty statement is not evidence that a discontinued or secondhand unit remains covered, and the material reviewed does not provide an exact TOA-70BKS wattage. Ask the seller to show the actual label and inspect the cord, door, tray, controls and plate before relying on an older appliance.
Who should compare something else?
Choose this earlier model only if its documented AirFry-plus-Grill combination and simple physical controls fit your routine, you can confirm the actual code and condition, and unknown measurements do not block your decision. If you want a presently listed version of the grill-and-air-fry idea with exact current dimensions, compare the TOA-70NAS review—but do not assume its numbers apply to an old TOA-70BKS. If you do not need Grill, the TOA-26 is a different, smaller-function-set alternative; if Dehydrate or a probe matters, compare a model whose own page/manual confirms those features, such as the TOA-112.
This is a source-based assessment, not a hands-on test; toast shade, temperature accuracy, noise, repairability and used-unit clearance have not been measured. For a secondhand search, use the exact bare model term rather than substituting a current suffix: Search Amazon for Cuisinart TOA-70BKS. Verify the appliance’s label and included pieces; the link does not imply stock, exact condition or compatibility with current parts.

Manufacturer warranty summary
The linked TOA-70 Series booklet states a limited three-year warranty for U.S. consumers using the product for ordinary household purposes. This is the booklet's terms for a new covered purchase, not evidence of remaining warranty on any used or discontinued TOA-70BKS unit.
Included cooking pieces
The linked TOA-70 Series booklet identifies an AirFryer Basket, two-position Oven Rack, Baking Pan/Drip Tray, reversible Grill/Griddle Plate and pull-out crumb tray already positioned in the unit. It supports the family plan, but the exact historical TOA-70BKS retail-box contents are not verified; inspect any used unit and its label.
Practical care and placement
The booklet says to cool fully and unplug before cleaning. Hand-wash the rack, baking pan, AirFryer Basket and crumb tray; the ceramic nonstick Grill/Griddle Plate is top-rack dishwasher safe, though hand washing is recommended to preserve its surface. Keep the crumb tray installed while operating and regularly clean grease from the upper interior. These are TOA-70 family directions; check the exact used unit's label and supplied documents.
