Your needs, this model
Does it fit your priorities?
Can the TOA-70NAS meet a need for a named Grill mode and separate Air Fry function without claiming two chambers?
Yes. The one-cavity plan lists Air Fry and Grill as alternate functions, but these cannot run as independent zones at once.
Explore this need in the finder →Will its listed 15.75-inch body width pass a 16-inch limit, but not a 15.5-inch limit?
Yes for a 16-inch body-only limit; no for 15.5 inches. Add the manual clearance and door/plug room separately.
Explore this need in the finder →Does its reversible grill/griddle plate give you two independent oven zones?
No. It is a removable surface used in one cavity, so a required second separately scheduled zone excludes it.
Explore this need in the finder →The Cuisinart TOA-70NAS is an eight-function dial oven distinguished by an included reversible grill/griddle plate alongside its Air Fry basket, pan and rack. It suits a buyer who will use the plate as well as everyday oven settings. If toast and Air Fry are enough, the plate adds storage and cleaning without adding another cooking chamber.
Eight named settings, one cooking space
Cuisinart lists Air Fry, Convection Bake, Convection Broil, Bake, Broil, Warm, Toast and Grill. Four physical knobs select function, temperature, a 60-minute oven timer and a separate toast-shade timer. The manual calls for the upper rack position for Toast and illustrates six slices in a three-front/three-back layout. There is no listed app, food probe, Dehydrate or Slow Cook program.
Every function uses one cavity. Grill is a setting for the removable plate, not another zone or a standalone outdoor grill; schedule one task at a time. If simultaneous foods at different temperatures are essential, choose a genuinely independent-zone model.
The plate is a real feature—and a real extra step
The ceramic-nonstick plate reverses between grill and griddle faces. For grilling, the manual places it grill-side up on the baking pan in the lower rack position and recommends about ten minutes of preheating; most grill recipes use 450°F. The other side suits tasks such as French toast, quesadillas and hash browns. Turning food halfway is advised. Have a safe landing place ready for the hot plate-and-pan assembly.
Air Fry instead uses the basket on the pan in the upper rack position. Cuisinart's three-pound capacity matches its chart for chicken wings; the same chart limits frozen fries to one or two pounds and hand-cut fries to two pounds. Treat those as food-specific portions, not a uniform load rating. Avoid crowding and toss food during cooking if needed. Air Fry and the grill plate are separate arrangements for different jobs.
Measure the body and allow operating space
The exact US page gives a 0.6-cubic-foot interior and body dimensions of 12.25 inches long, 15.75 wide and 13.75 high. Its weight field says “23” without a unit and an earlier indexed value differs, so weight stays unknown. Nominal volume also cannot confirm that your dish, handles or pizza clear the opening.
The linked booklet calls for a flat surface, two to four inches from walls or nearby objects, and no heat-sensitive surface. The exterior gets very hot; do not use under a wall cabinet or in an appliance garage. Measure extra room for clearance, the cord, door opening and setting down hot cookware. The manual includes fresh- and frozen-pizza directions but no pizza-diameter rating.
Cleaning and warranty are part of the choice
The rack, pan, basket and crumb tray should be hand-washed. The grill/griddle plate is listed as top-rack dishwasher safe, though hand washing is preferred to protect its coating. Unplug and cool the oven before cleaning, keep the crumb tray installed in use, and remove grease from the upper interior. The added plate means more washing than a basket-only setup.
Cuisinart states a three-year limited household warranty; keep proof of purchase. The 1,800-watt rating is a reason to check the outlet and circuit against the instructions.
Exact finish codes in the same family
Cuisinart also lists black-stainless TOA-70BKSNAS and white TOA-70WNAS. Their exact US pages give the same functions, capacity, dimensions, wattage, warranty and four included pieces as TOA-70NAS, and link the same TOA-70-series booklet. They are finish variants under the same cooking plan. Check the suffix and finish on the retail box. TOA-70BKSNAS manufacturer page · TOA-70WNAS manufacturer page. Who should compare another oven
Choose this family when you will use its plate, want Air Fry and conventional toaster-oven settings in one horizontal cavity, and have clearance. Compare the Cuisinart TOA-26 if Grill is unnecessary; its controls differ, while its strict-fit measurements remain unconfirmed. The Ninja SP151 instead folds upright after use. Two cooking schedules at once require a genuinely independent-zone oven.
This is source-based, not hands-on: toast consistency, temperature accuracy, speed, noise and durability were not measured. The linked booklet is for the TOA-70 series, so check the suffix and keep the supplied instructions. Cuisinart's bare TOA-70, TOA-70BKS and TOA-70W paths currently redirect to the NAS-suffixed pages above; that destination does not establish whether older units had identical packages. For a used oven or replacement parts, check its label and supplied instructions rather than assuming today's suffix is interchangeable.
