An earlier independently scheduled two-cavity countertop oven with separate upper toaster and lower Air Fry/Dehydrate menus; the exact listed package does not include a Foodi thermometer.

Earlier US Ninja Foodi Double Oven DCT401, un-suffixed model. Match the DCT401 label and listed package; do not assume another DCT401Q/CO/BK suffix or a DCT451/DCT801 configuration has the same menu or manual.

A useful fit for

A useful earlier-model reference for someone who wants separately scheduled upper and lower ovens, a dedicated lower Air Fry and Dehydrate menu, and a six-slice toast setting, and who is prepared to verify the exact model and included accessories.

The main tradeoff

The unit is a heavy, deep countertop appliance whose 16.39-inch body width is not its required operating clearance. It has no included probe in the exact box list, and the manufacturer DCT400 guide covers a series with some options that are not on the DCT401's own panel.

Your needs, this model

Does it fit your priorities?

Can I include the earlier DCT401 if I need Air Fry and a separate upper toaster-oven chamber?

Yes. The exact DCT401 listing and six-plus-six panel identify a top toaster oven and lower Air Fry oven, with separately scheduled programs. It is included only when earlier US models are allowed.

Does the exact DCT401 offer a dedicated Dehydrate program as well as Air Fry?

Yes. Dehydrate and Air Fry are separate lower-oven programs on the exact DCT401 panel. Do not transfer that menu to a DCT401CO or a different code without its own evidence.

Will the listed DCT401 body fit a strict 16-inch width limit?

No. The listed body width is 16.39 inches, before the owner's guide's one-inch open airflow margin on each side. Measure the complete operating space.

Can DCT401 meet a requirement for an included wired food probe?

No. The exact-model package list does not list a Foodi thermometer. If a probe is essential, consider an independently documented probe-equipped configuration such as the distinct DCT451; do not assume compatibility means the oven includes one.

The Ninja Foodi Double Oven DCT401 is an earlier two-zone countertop oven: a toaster-oven chamber sits above a separate convection and Air Fry chamber. Its useful distinction is that the two can be scheduled independently and coordinated with Smart Finish. The exact DCT401 has twelve listed programs, including both Air Fry and Dehydrate, but its package listing does not name a food probe.

Two smaller ovens with separate jobs

The upper oven has Broil, Toast, Bagel, Bake, Reheat and Keep Warm. The lower oven has Whole Roast, Air Roast, Air Fry, Convection Bake, Pizza and Dehydrate. Those are twelve modes across the appliance, not twelve in each cavity. The DCT400 Series Owner’s Guide describes one rack position above and two below. The DCT401 control image confirms the six-plus-six split; its panel does not list the optional Cookies program mentioned elsewhere in the series guide. Do not borrow settings from a similar-looking suffix.

For example, the top can toast while the lower cavity air-fries or roasts a side. Smart Finish lets the shorter cycle wait so both can end together. It does not make a full meal cook faster automatically: loading, preheat and the food’s timing still matter. The recipe booklet notes that using both ovens may require extra time and that some recipes call for adding food after preheat.

Toast is specified for up to six slices, and Bagel is separately specified for up to six halves. The DCT401 recipe guide demonstrates a 12-inch pizza in the lower chamber. These examples do not establish usable cavity volume or guarantee that a tall-handled pan clears the opening; check your cookware and rack position before relying on them.

Air Fry and Dehydrate are both real programs

The lower chamber has separate Air Fry and Dehydrate controls. For Air Fry, the basket is intended to expose food to airflow; the guide recommends a sheet pan beneath it when food is greasy or marinated so drips can be caught. The guide’s chart uses a 3–4-pound wings reference, while the retailer’s page advertises up to six pounds. Those are not interchangeable instructions: preserve spacing and use the recipe quantities as the more practical starting point rather than treating a marketing maximum as a cooking result.

Dehydrate is a longer, lower-temperature program, not another name for Air Fry. Its presence is useful if drying is a real part of your routine, and it distinguishes the DCT401 from the DCT801BK menu, which does not list Dehydrate. The earlier DCT451 also has that program, but it is a different model and its listing includes a Foodi Smart Thermometer; that probe is not listed in the DCT401 package.

Measure the body and operating space

An exact DCT401 retailer listing reports 16.39 inches wide, 18.6 inches deep, 13.26 inches high and 31 pounds. The DCT400 manufacturer guide does not give those exterior dimensions, so treat them as listing specifications and verify the exact model label and package. The guide requires at least one inch of open space above and on every side for airflow. That allowance is additional to the listed body size and does not include room for the plug, door, hot pans or handling.

The guide rates the series at 1,800 watts, 120 volts/60 Hz, and requires a 15-amp circuit; it says not to use an extension cord. Set it on a stable, level, heat-resistant counter with vents unobstructed. For first use, the manufacturer recommends cleaning and drying the accessories, then running the empty upper Bake and lower Air Fry settings at 450°F for 25 minutes in a ventilated room. Unplug and cool before cleaning. Hand-wash the sheet pans and crumb tray; the wire racks and Air Fry basket can go in a dishwasher, though hand-washing may reduce wear. Keep the crumb tray in its specified position below the elements.

What changes when you compare generations?

The DCT401 is an earlier US listing, not a model in Ninja’s seven-item US countertop-oven category checked October 23, 2026; Lowe’s exact-model page also says it is no longer sold there. Neither observation proves it is unavailable everywhere. The listed package contains two sheet pans, two wire racks, an Air Fry basket, a removable crumb tray and a 15-recipe guide. Confirm a used or remaining-stock box rather than assuming every accessory is present.

Keep the exact code in view. DCT401CO, DCT401Q, DCT401QBK, DCT401QCM, DCT401QCP and DCT401BK appear as separate references and are not established here as finish-only variants. In particular, a Costco DCT401CO listing describes fourteen functions, so its function map cannot be replaced by this DCT401’s twelve-mode list without that configuration’s own evidence.

Choose DCT401 as an earlier-model reference if you want two independently scheduled chambers, Air Fry and Dehydrate, and are willing to verify condition and included parts. If a probe is essential, compare the distinct DCT451 instead. If you want a current Ninja double oven and can do without Dehydrate, consider the DCT801BK family; do not transfer this DCT400 guide’s setup or care instructions to it. A single-cavity oven may be simpler if you rarely need different foods cooking at once.

In the finder, DCT401 appears only when earlier models are allowed. Requiring Dehydrate can admit it; requiring an included probe excludes it. Its 16.39-inch body width is not the clearance requirement, so a nominally wide-enough counter may still leave too little airflow space. This is a source-based assessment, not a cooking trial: no temperature accuracy, toast color, speed, noise or durability test is claimed. Practical care and placement

The DCT400 Series guide linked from the exact DCT401 page instructs first-time owners to wash and dry removable accessories, then run the empty upper oven on Bake and lower oven on Air Fry at 450°F for 25 minutes in a ventilated room. Maintain at least 1 in above and on every side for airflow; use a stable level countertop and no extension cord. Unplug and cool before cleaning. Hand-wash the sheet pans and crumb tray; the racks and Air Fry basket are dishwasher-capable, but the guide notes hand-washing may reduce wear. Never immerse the main unit.
