Cuisinart Digital Air Fryer Toaster Oven TOA-65 review

An earlier 0.6-cu-ft digital single-cavity oven with Air Fry presets, Proof, Dehydrate and an extended Low cycle; its manual does not name a separate Slow Cook mode.

Sources checked 2026-10-23 · Our editorial approach

Earlier discontinued US TOA-65. Its linked manual confirms Proof and Dehydrate plus Low for up to eight hours; Low may serve slow-cooking recipes but is not a separate Slow Cook program. Keep distinct from TOA-95 and TOA-95NAS.

A useful fit for

A useful earlier-model reference when Proof, Dehydrate, Air Fry and a long Low cycle are wanted in one digital oven with a 15.75-inch listed body width.

The main tradeoff

Cuisinart marks TOA-65 discontinued. It has one cavity and no separately named Slow Cook program, independent zones, app control or included probe. Manual clearance adds 2–4 inches around the body; current stock and the weight unit are unknown.

Your needs, this model

Does it fit your priorities?

If earlier models are acceptable, can TOA-65 provide Proof, Dehydrate and Air Fry under a 16-inch body-width limit?

Yes. The exact manual documents Proof/Dehydrate, the product page documents Air Fry, and the body is listed at 15.75 inches wide. Add manual clearance separately; this is not the total operating footprint.

Does TOA-65 meet an essential need for a named Slow Cook preset?

No. Its manual names Low and describes slow-cooking recipes, but no separate Slow Cook program. Use the Low-cycle constraint if that is the essential function you need.

Does TOA-65 have independently scheduled upper and lower ovens?

No. Dual Cook programs two stages consecutively in one cavity.

The Cuisinart TOA-65 is a discontinued digital Air Fryer Toaster Oven with a useful low-temperature menu: dedicated Proof and Dehydrate functions plus an extended Low cycle. Its exact US page describes that Low setting as suitable for slow cooking and braising, but the exact linked manual does not name a separate Slow Cook preset. Cuisinart also lists Air Fry, toast, bagel, bake, broil, pizza, roast, reheat and warm. That makes the TOA-65 a useful earlier-model reference for someone who will use its full menu, not just a generic oven-shaped air fryer. Its one horizontal cavity still runs one task at a time; the Dual Cook feature schedules two stages in sequence rather than creating two cooking zones.

What the menu actually separates

The TOA-65 has a digital screen and selector dial, dedicated Air Fry and Dual Cook controls, defrost, an interior light and an adjustable fan between high and low speeds. The linked TOA-65 booklet confirms separate menu entries for Air Fry, Proof, Low and Dehydrate; it does not name a separate Slow Cook preset. It also describes five Air Fry shortcuts—fries, wings, nuggets, snacks and vegetables. Those presets are choices within Air Fry, not five extra cavities or a reason to count every shortcut as an independent heating system.

For essential needs, the manual matters more than a broad “low temperatures” headline. Proof is adjustable from 80 to 100°F for up to two hours; Dehydrate from 100 to 200°F for as long as 72 hours; and Low from 100 to 300°F for up to eight hours. Low is the documented long-duration option and can be used for slow-cooked dishes, but it is not a separately named Slow Cook mode. A buyer asking for dough proofing can select Proof as the requirement; someone needing a Low cycle lasting several hours can select that separately. Toast and Bagel have shade settings, and the booklet guides up to six slices or bagel halves. Dual Cook can transition from one selected stage to another automatically, but it does not run distinct foods at independent temperatures at the same time.

A sensible fit for compact batch Air Fry

Cuisinart states a 0.6-cu-ft capacity, Air Fry loads of up to three pounds, a four-pound roasting chicken, six bagel halves and a 12-inch pizza. These are different kinds of capacity claims: they are not interchangeable and are not a promise that every pan, handle or recipe fits. The exact page lists the body at 12.25 inches long by 15.75 inches wide by 13.75 inches high. That is a smaller body width than the TOA-95 reviewed separately, though the surrounding clearance still matters. The manual calls for a level surface with two to four inches between the oven and nearby walls or objects, warns that the outer walls get hot, and says not to operate beneath wall cabinets or in an appliance garage. Measure plug access, open-door reach and a safe hot-pan landing place as well as the metal body.

For Air Fry, the manual recommends the mesh basket nested in the baking/drip pan, generally in the upper rack position; a single layer and occasional checking matter more than chasing the maximum load. The supplied rack can use two positions, with a halfway stop on the upper one. Toasting has a specified position, so do not assume one rack arrangement serves every function. The fan remains on briefly after cooking for cooling, and the light times out automatically. Those behaviors are normal control details, not evidence of a defect.

Pieces and cleanup are part of the decision

The exact product page lists the stainless Air Fry basket, baking/drip pan, wire rack and removable crumb tray; its interior sides are nonstick. The booklet says the pan and basket are dishwasher-safe, but the wire rack and crumb tray need hand washing. It also recommends clearing grease from the upper interior after greasy cooking and never running the unit without the crumb tray. If buying a used TOA-65, count the actual pieces in the box and check the oven label: Cuisinart separately lists parts such as TOA-65BP, TOA-65AB, TOA-65WR and TOA-65CT, and its compatibility pages also mention other host codes. Do not assume a similarly named pan or basket fits without checking the exact part code.

Who should compare it—and what it cannot do

The TOA-65 can fit a shopper who specifically wants earlier-model access to dedicated Proof and Dehydrate, plus a long Low cycle, conventional toast and Air Fry in one digital appliance. If a strict 16-inch body-width ceiling is essential, its listed 15.75-inch width is within that body-only limit, but the manual's side clearance adds space; a 15-inch ceiling does not work. It cannot satisfy a requirement for a separate named Slow Cook preset, two separately controlled cooking zones, app control or a documented food probe.

For a current alternative, the Cuisinart TOA-112 is a different, larger digital design with a probe, divided 9-by-13-inch pan and grill/griddle plate; it has a dedicated Low cycle but does not list a Slow Cook or Proof program. The TOA-65 is also distinct from the discontinued large TOA-95: TOA-95 is wider, lists 0.95 cu ft and includes Slow Cook, but its manual does not document Proof. Cuisinart marks the TOA-65 discontinued, so this is not a claim of current stock, warranty transfer or tested performance. Toast evenness, temperature accuracy, speed, sound level and durability were not hands-on measured here. Check that any remaining-stock or secondhand listing is the exact TOA-65 and includes a matching manual before relying on an old listing.
