Fit and setup
Measure the counter, cabinet and pan before ordering
The dimension printed on a product page describes the appliance body. It does not describe the operating footprint, the open-door reach or the minimum air gap. Before ordering, measure the location with the oven in use—not only the bare shelf.
Measure from the counter surface outward
Record usable width and depth, cabinet-bottom height, wall gaps, distance to a cooktop or another appliance, and the path to the grounded outlet. Then read the exact manual. The BOV680, BOV860, BOV900 and BOV950 books specify side and overhead clearances during operation; model-specific instructions take priority over a generic product photo or the fact that the body fits between cabinets. A wall-mounted cabinet must not become a heat shield by accident.
The BOV680 body measures 15.7 × 16.9 × 10 inches, the BOV860 measures 18.9 × 15.9 × 10.9 inches, and the BOV900 and BOV950 are each listed at 21.4 × 17.3 × 12.7 inches. Those numbers omit clearance, the power plug and the free space needed to open the drop-down door. The BOV680 product page does not publish cubic-foot capacity or weight, so use its 4-slice/11-inch-pizza references when judging its cooking size. A full-size Pro oven that weighs nearly 39 pounds also needs a stable counter and a plan for moving it; do not treat weight as a quick daily lift.
Check a pan’s outside dimensions
Measure the rim-to-rim width and depth of the dish, including handles, and check its height with food inside. A product’s “13-inch pizza” label is a round-pizza statement, not proof that every square pan or dish of that width fits. Account for the wire rack, the door, and the air path around food. If you need more than one rack level, check whether the exact manual permits the arrangement you plan to use.
Make a placement plan, not a workaround
Leave the crumb tray in its intended position and do not line it or the oven’s interior with foil. Keep cords away from the hot housing. Make sure the door can open without striking a backsplash or blocking a walkway, and that hot accessories can be set down safely. Each of these Breville manuals recommends operating the oven on a dedicated circuit separated from other appliances. If you are unsure whether your outlet arrangement is appropriate, follow the exact model manual and consult a qualified electrician rather than relying on a multi-appliance setup.
If no location meets the model’s operating clearance, the model does not fit that location. Try the narrower BOV680 if its stated food capacities suffice, the BOV860 if its published 0.8-cubic-foot cavity better fits your needs, move to a compliant open counter, or consider another cooking format.
